A wise man once said “never loose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting”. Beauty can be said to be a description and also an entity which is admired. The characterization ‘beautiful’ often depends whether on an individual or societal consensus. The decision before categorizing a person as beautiful often includes other factors, both physical and abstract.. This gives life to the saying “beauty is not all about having a pretty face but also a pretty mind, heart and beautiful soul”. This simply implies beauty is the illumination of the soul. It sometimes is not just the looks but in who we are.
The experience of beauty often times involves balance and harmony of nature. The standards of beauty has changed overtime. Beauty standards are rooted n cultural norms crafted by society and the media. Men are also not excluded in the concept of beauty as the society has varying Eurocentric standards for men such as tallness, muscularity, and the likes.
Beauty is not two-faced. Beauty comes from the mind, flows through the veins of attitude and illuminates in class. It is character, intelligence, strength and style. It is how you feel on the inside and it reflects in the eyes. It is not just the smile on the face but also the light in the heart. Just as butterflies cannot see their wings (they cannot see how truly beautiful they are) but everyone can, so is inner beauty. The physical beauty attracts but inner beauty captivates.
